God created us to create, to think, and to take action. I find myself so very often praying that He will open a door or guide me to this wonderful life I live up in my head. If I sit and wait without creating, thinking and acting, where will I find this open door? Certainly not on my living room sofa.
We live in a world of dictators, terrorists and even our own government has failed at creative solutions. They do not even see themselves as created beings to create peace and beauty in a world starving for revival. Artists, and we are all artists, whether it is primitive, amateur or the most modern technology, are called to bring awareness of the spirit, God's spirit, the Creator of the created. He created us in His image - to create!
Create something beautiful today...with your thoughts, your words, your actions and revel in the magnificence of you - startling, beautiful you and remind others struggling with who they are ---- of whom they come from! It's amazing!
Not a perfect drawing but a translation of learning.

Day Dreaming
I keep practicing with drawing. I am constantly challenged how to add writing with a picture.
I normally write in a lined composition notebook that I love. My pilot gel pens go perfectly with that paper. I usually write prayers and they are personal and really cannot mix those with pics. Some I could. My creativity is being challenged.

"Spring Break at Siesta Key, Florida"
Visiting my sister during Spring break. Such a beautiful day there. The water temperature was around 62 degrees and the ocean breeze blowing across the water felt amazing along with the warmth of the sun. That combination lulls you into the most relaxing rest under those cabana chairs. You hear a multitude of conversations humming along and the playful giggles and laughter coming from children digging in the sand. Then there is the constant gentle sound of the ebb and flow of the water as it greets the feet of birds and humans.
How I wish I could bottle these moments and pop the cork to sit there once again soaking in the life at the foot of the shores. Absolute paradise!

"Inspired by Nature - Art Journal Page.jpg"
I have for many years now kept a written journal. Mostly my journals are my prayers. When I discovered art journaling, just last year, I was amazed. I find it difficult to write with the depth I have in my written journal and trying to combine that with pictures. I am still in this process of discovering what really appeals to me and making that my place of creativity.
These words are actually from a song by The Allman Brothers Band. As teenagers in the 70's we loved the sound of their southern rock and slide guitar. Their music still makes me smile. These lyrics fit my feelings for Jesus. As the creator, He is my blue sky, He is my sunny day and remembering how when I first received the gift of his never ending love, I felt like the cup that is displayed here running over and His love is intended to spill over from our life into others. Beautiful!
